World Choral Day Baden/Austria
Chamber Choir Vox Humana, Singkreis Leesdorf, Voix Celestes, KirchenchorSt. Stephan, Chor Leobersdorf, Ensemble Achtfach, Peter Natterer(Saxophon)
This year the WORLD CHORAL DAY concert will be the 6th edition. 6 – 10 choirs from the region come to sing 2 songs of their own choice. St. Stephan church is the place in Baden (25km south of Vienna) where W.A. Mozart composed his famous Ave Verum Corpus motette. It´s first performance took place in this church in 1791. Therefore we keep the tradition to let all choirs of the concert sing Mozart´s touching motette in the end of the program acompanied by organ. All lights in church will be switched off, just a few candles in front of each choir. The choirs are staged all around the church. Since 2012 we also organize the “Long Night of Choral Music” in this place during the INTERNATIONAL CHORAL COMPETITION AVE VERUM.
